Clavius Primes

Clavius lenses are rooted in vintage Russian lenses from the 1970’s and utilize the legendary Helios 58mm f2 (44-2) as the primary source glass. Lens maker Richard Gale Optics adds modern elements and robust stainless steel modern cinema housing to create each individual focal length. 

These lenses are “ultra responsive” meaning they easily create beautiful and expressive flares and each of these lenses has a low contrast, stunning painterly quality. All four of the Clavius lenses retain the famous Helios swirling bokeh. 

Each Clavius lens also comes with interchangeable aperture disks that allow you to shape your very own look in-camera, and to create optional and unique anamorphic bokeh effects (with sphericals!). Come on in to test what specific look best fits your project. 

All four lenses are f2, PL mounts, 95mm fronts, long smooth focus throws, and all focal lengths cover Full Frame/Vista Vision sensors.
